Description
Cardiomagnyl Forte (Acetylsalicylic Acid) Coated Tablets 150 mg. №100 Vial
Composition
Each coated tablet of Cardiomagnyl Forte contains 150 mg of Acetylsalicylic acid.
Mechanism of Action
Acetylsalicylic acid, the active ingredient in Cardiomagnyl Forte, inhibits the enzyme cyclooxygenase, thereby reducing the production of prostaglandins. This inhibition results in anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antipyretic, and antiplatelet effects.
Pharmacological Properties
The pharmacological properties of Cardiomagnyl Forte include antiplatelet, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic effects. It acts by irreversibly inhibiting platelet aggregation and reducing the formation of thromboxane A2, a potent platelet aggregator.
Indications for Use
Cardiomagnyl Forte is indicated for:
- Prevention of thrombosis and embolism after surgical and invasive vascular interventions
- Secondary prevention of myocardial infarction
- Prevention of acute ischemic cerebrovascular disorders
Contraindications
Do not use Cardiomagnyl Forte if you:
- Have a hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid or any other components of the drug
- Have a history of asthma induced by administration of salicylates or substances with similar activity
- Have a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation
Side Effects
Common side effects of Cardiomagnyl Forte may include gastrointestinal irritation, ulceration, bleeding, and allergic reactions. In rare cases, it may lead to severe bleeding events and bronchospasm in susceptible individuals.
Usage Instructions
The recommended dosage for adults is 1 tablet daily. The tablet should be swallowed whole with a sufficient amount of liquid. It is advised to take the tablet at the same time each day, preferably in the morning.
Benefits Compared to Analogues
Cardiomagnyl Forte offers the advantage of combining the antiplatelet effects of acetylsalicylic acid with gastrointestinal protection due to its enteric coating. This dual action reduces the risk of gastrointestinal side effects commonly associated with other antiplatelet agents.
Suitable Patient Groups
Cardiomagnyl Forte is suitable for adult patients requiring antiplatelet therapy for the prevention of cardiovascular events. It is not recommended for use in children, especially those with viral infections, due to the risk of Reye’s syndrome. Caution should be exercised in elderly patients due to the increased risk of gastrointestinal bleeding.
Storage Conditions and Shelf Life
Cardiomagnyl Forte should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. The tablets have a shelf life of 2 years from the date of manufacture.
Packaging Description
Cardiomagnyl Forte is available in a vial containing 100 coated tablets. The vial is designed to maintain the stability and integrity of the tablets throughout the storage period.
