Scientific Evidence
Glimepiride, the active ingredient in Dimaril tablets, is a sulfonylurea that works by increasing insulin release from the pancreas. Studies have shown that glimepiride effectively lowers blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. Research published in the Journal of Diabetes Investigation demonstrated the efficacy of glimepiride in improving glycemic control and reducing HbA1c levels.
Clinical Trials
Clinical trials have shown that glimepiride is as effective as other sulfonylureas in controlling blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes. A study published in Diabetes Care compared the efficacy and safety of glimepiride with glibenclamide and found similar outcomes in terms of glycemic control.
