Description
Ebrantil (Urapidil) Solution for Injections 25 mg. 5 ml. Ampoules №5
Ingredients:
Each ampoule contains 25 mg of Urapidil.
Mechanism of Action:
Urapidil acts as an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist, leading to vasodilation and subsequent reduction in blood pressure.
Pharmacological Properties:
Urapidil exerts its antihypertensive effects by blocking alpha-1 adrenergic receptors, resulting in peripheral vasodilation and decreased systemic vascular resistance.
Indications for Use:
Ebrantil is indicated for the treatment of arterial hypertension, especially in hypertensive emergencies necessitating rapid blood pressure reduction.
Contraindications:
It is contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to Urapidil and in cases of severe hypotension where further blood pressure reduction may be harmful.
Side Effects:
Common side effects of Urapidil may include hypotension, dizziness, headache, and nausea. Rare but serious adverse reactions may include bradycardia and allergic reactions.
Usage Instructions:
The typical dosage of Ebrantil is 25-50 mg administered intravenously, with a maximum daily dose of 100 mg. It should be administered slowly with close monitoring of blood pressure during infusion.
Benefits Compared to Analogues:
Ebrantil offers rapid and effective blood pressure reduction in hypertensive emergencies, with a favorable safety profile compared to other antihypertensive agents.
Suitable Patient Groups:
Ebrantil can be used in adult patients, including the elderly, for the management of acute hypertensive episodes.
Storage and Shelf Life:
Store Ebrantil at room temperature away from light and moisture. Check the expiration date on the packaging and do not use expired product.
Packaging Description:
Ebrantil is supplied in 5 ml ampoules, each containing 25 mg of Urapidil solution for intravenous administration.
Scientific Evidence:
Studies have demonstrated the efficacy of Urapidil in reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Research published in the Journal of Hypertension highlighted the effectiveness of Urapidil in managing hypertensive crises.
Additional Information:
- Pharmacological Effects: Urapidil’s mechanism of action involves selective alpha-1 adrenergic receptor blockade, resulting in vasodilation and improved blood pressure control.
- Clinical Trials: Comparative studies have shown that Urapidil is as effective as other antihypertensive agents in treating hypertensive emergencies, emphasizing its role in acute blood pressure management.
