Description
Enap H (Enalapril Maleate/Hydrochlorothiazide) 10 mg/25 mg Tablets №60
Ingredients:
Each tablet contains 10 mg of enalapril maleate and 25 mg of hydrochlorothiazide.
Mechanism of Action:
Enalapril, an ACE inhibitor, inhibits the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, a potent vasoconstrictor. Hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic, promotes salt and water excretion, collectively reducing blood pressure.
Pharmacological Properties:
The combination of enalapril and hydrochlorothiazide effectively lowers blood pressure by dual mechanisms of action: vasodilation and diuresis.
Indications for Use:
Enap H is indicated for the treatment of hypertension either as monotherapy or in combination with other antihypertensive agents.
Contraindications:
Avoid Enap H if allergic to any ingredients, history of angioedema from ACE inhibitors, or during pregnancy.
Side Effects:
Possible side effects include dizziness, dry cough, hypotension, electrolyte imbalances, and renal dysfunction.
Usage Instructions:
Typically, take one tablet of Enap H daily, with or without food. Dosage adjustments may be necessary based on individual response.
Benefits over Analogues:
Combination therapy of enalapril and hydrochlorothiazide has demonstrated superior efficacy in blood pressure reduction compared to either drug alone. Moreover, it is well-tolerated in hypertensive patients.
Suitable Patient Groups:
Enap H is suitable for adult patients with hypertension. Caution is advised when prescribing to the elderly due to potential hypotensive effects.
Storage and Shelf Life:
- Store Enap H at room temperature, shielded from moisture and heat sources.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Packaging Description:
Enap H is available in a pack containing 60 tablets of 10 mg enalapril maleate and 25 mg hydrochlorothiazide each.
