Mechanism of Action
Pharmacologically, Ambroxol acts by stimulating the production of surfactant in the lungs, which helps in the clearance of mucus and improves breathing. It also exhibits antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, further aiding in the management of respiratory conditions.
Indications
Lazolvan syrup is indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic respiratory diseases associated with abnormal mucus secretion and impaired mucus transport.
Contraindications
Do not use Lazolvan syrup in case of known hypersensitivity to Ambroxol or any other ingredients in the product. It is not recommended for use in the first trimester of pregnancy.
Side Effects
Common side effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances, allergic reactions, or skin rashes. If any adverse effects occur, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.

Benefits Compared to Analogues
Ambroxol, the active ingredient in Lazolvan syrup, has been extensively studied for its mucolytic and expectorant properties. Research has shown that Ambroxol enhances the production of pulmonary surfactant, reduces the viscosity of mucus, and improves mucociliary clearance, making it an effective treatment for respiratory conditions.
Suitable Patient Groups
Lazolvan syrup is suitable for adults and children over 2 years of age. It is safe for use in the elderly population as well.
Storage and Shelf Life
Storage: Store Lazolvan syrup below 25°C in a dry place. Keep it out of reach of children.
Packaging Description
Lazolvan syrup is available in a 200 ml bottle with a measuring cup for accurate dosage administration.
Clinical Evidence and Proven Effectiveness
Clinical trials have demonstrated the efficacy of Lazolvan syrup in conditions such as bronchitis, asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). In a study by Zheng et al., Ambroxol was found to significantly improve lung function and reduce exacerbations in patients with COPD, highlighting its therapeutic benefits.
