Directions
Shake well before use. Clear nasal passages before administering. Tilt head slightly forward and insert the nozzle into one nostril. Spray while breathing in gently. Repeat for the other nostril.
Scientific Evidence
Oxymetazoline, the active ingredient in Nazo-spray, is a selective alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonist that constricts blood vessels in the nasal passages, reducing swelling and congestion for easier breathing. Studies indicate rapid and effective relief with minimal systemic absorption, making it a preferred choice for nasal congestion.
Additional Information
Nazo-spray is for nasal use only. Prolonged use can lead to rebound congestion. Consult a healthcare professional before use in children under 6 years or with underlying medical conditions. Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat.
Pharmacological studies show oxymetazoline’s efficacy in relieving nasal congestion through vasoconstrictive effects on nasal blood vessels. Clinical trials demonstrate that Nazo-spray provides fast and long-lasting relief compared to saline sprays or oral decongestants.
Research by Smith et al. (2018) in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology highlights oxymetazoline nasal spray’s superior efficacy in improving nasal airflow and reducing congestion symptoms compared to placebo, positioning it as a first-line treatment for nasal congestion.
