Additional Information
- Paxil works by selectively inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin in the brain, which helps to restore the balance of serotonin levels and improve mood. It is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) and is believed to be particularly effective in the treatment of anxiety disorders.
- Clinical trials have also demonstrated the efficacy of Paxil in reducing the frequency and severity of panic attacks in patients with panic disorder. The drug has been well-tolerated in long-term studies, with common side effects including nausea, dizziness, and sexual dysfunction.
