Composition

active ingredient: albumin;
1 ml of the drug contains human albumin 100 mg

Excipients: sodium caprylate, water for injection.

Indications.

Restoration and maintenance of the volume of blood circulation in case of manifestations of volume insufficiency and the need for the use of colloids.

Traumatic and operative shock, burns accompanied by dehydration and “thickening” of blood, hypoproteinemia and hypoalbuminemia of different origin (nephrotic syndrome in nephritis, cirrhosis, long-term septic and purulent processes, etc.). The use of the drug is also recommended for diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (peptic ulcer, tumors, reduction of patency of the gastrointestinal anastomosis), acute pancreatitis, operations with extracorporeal circulation.

The use of albumin or artificial colloid depends on the individual clinical situation for each patient according to official recommendations.

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity to protein blood products or any of the excipients.

Method of application and dose.

The concentration of the albumin preparation, the dosage and the rate of infusion must be selected depending on the individual needs of the patient.

The required dose depends on the patient’s body weight, the severity of the injury or illness, and the degree of fluid and protein loss.

When administering human albumin, hemodynamic characteristics should be checked regularly, which include:

  • arterial blood pressure and pulse rate
  • central venous pressure;
  • pulmonary artery wedge pressure;
  • diuresis;
  • concentration of electrolytes;
  • hematocrit / hemoglobin;
  • clinical manifestations of cardiac/respiratory insufficiency (eg, shortness of breath)
  • clinical manifestations of increased intracranial pressure (eg, headache).

Human albumin 10% can be injected directly into or diluted with an isotonic solution (for example, 5% glucose solution or 0.9% sodium chloride solution).

The albumin solution must not be diluted with water for injection, as this may cause hemolysis in the patient.

The rate of infusion must be adjusted according to individual circumstances and indications.

In plasmapheresis, the rate of infusion must be adjusted according to the rate of withdrawal.

When administering large volumes, the drug should be warmed to room temperature or body temperature before use.

Do not use if albumin 10% solution is cloudy or contains sediment. This may indicate protein instability or contamination of the solution.

Do not use if packaging is damaged. Destroy if a leak is found.

After opening the vial, the drug should be used immediately! Any unused solution residue should be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
