Scientific Evidence
Levocetirizine, the active ingredient in Aleron tablets, is a third-generation non-sedating antihistamine that selectively antagonizes peripheral H1 receptors. Studies have shown that levocetirizine is effective in relieving symptoms of allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria with minimal sedative effects compared to other antihistamines.
Additional Information
It is important to note that while Aleron tablets are generally well-tolerated, some individuals may experience side effects such as headache, dry mouth, or fatigue. If you experience any severe or persistent side effects, discontinue use and consult your healthcare provider.
Pharmacological Effects
Levocetirizine exerts its pharmacological effects by blocking the action of histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms. By inhibiting the histamine receptors, levocetirizine helps reduce symptoms like itching, sneezing, and runny nose associated with allergies.
Clinical Trials and Comparative Effectiveness
Clinical trials have demonstrated the efficacy of levocetirizine in improving symptoms of allergic rhinitis and chronic urticaria. In comparative studies, levocetirizine has shown similar or superior effectiveness compared to other second-generation antihistamines, with a lower incidence of sedation.
Overall, Aleron (levocetirizine) coated tablets 5 mg. №30 offer a well-established treatment option for individuals suffering from allergic conditions, backed by scientific evidence and clinical trials supporting its efficacy and safety.
