Scientific Evidence
Levocetirizine, the active ingredient in Allervei tablets, is a potent and selective antagonist of the histamine H1 receptor. Studies have shown that levocetirizine effectively reduces the symptoms of allergic rhinitis and chronic urticaria with a low incidence of sedation compared to other antihistamines.
Additional Information
It is important to note that Allervei tablets may cause drowsiness, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medication. If you experience any severe side effects, discontinue use and consult your healthcare provider.
Pharmacological Effects: Levocetirizine works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms. By inhibiting histamine, levocetirizine helps alleviate symptoms such as sneezing, itching, and watery eyes.
Clinical Trials: Clinical trials have demonstrated the efficacy of levocetirizine in the treatment of allergic rhinitis and chronic urticaria. A study published in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology showed that levocetirizine provided significant symptom relief compared to a placebo, with a rapid onset of action and long-lasting effects.
