Additional Information
It is important to regularly monitor thyroid function, liver enzymes, and lung function while taking Amiokordin tablets. This medication may interact with other drugs, so inform your healthcare provider about all the medications you are taking.
Pharmacological Effects: Amiodarone works by prolonging the action potential duration and refractory period of cardiac tissues, thereby stabilizing the heart’s rhythm. It also has non-competitive alpha- and beta-adrenergic blocking effects, contributing to its antiarrhythmic properties.
Clinical Trials: Clinical trials have demonstrated the superior efficacy of amiodarone in managing ventricular arrhythmias compared to other antiarrhythmic agents. A study published in the “New England Journal of Medicine” showed a significant reduction in sudden cardiac death in patients treated with amiodarone.
