Description
Anapiron (Paracetamol) Solution for Infusions 10 mg/ml. 100 ml. (1000 mg.) №1
Composition
Active ingredient: Paracetamol. Other ingredients: Sodium metabisulfite, disodium edetate, and water for injections.
Mechanism of Action
Paracetamol, a widely recognized analgesic and antipyretic agent, acts centrally to inhibit the production of prostaglandins in the central nervous system, thereby exerting its pain-relieving and fever-reducing effects.
Pharmacological Properties
Paracetamol is well-absorbed after intravenous administration, with a rapid onset of action. It is metabolized in the liver and excreted mainly in the urine. Its mechanism of action involves the inhibition of cyclooxygenase enzymes, particularly COX-2, in the brain.
Indications for Use
Anapiron solution for infusions is indicated for the management of mild to moderate pain, fever, and as an analgesic in postoperative settings.
Contraindications
Do not use Anapiron solution for infusions if:
- You are allergic to paracetamol or any other ingredients.
- You have severe liver disease.
- You are taking other products containing paracetamol.
Side Effects
Common side effects of paracetamol infusion may include nausea, vomiting, and allergic reactions. Serious side effects such as liver damage are rare but possible, especially with overdosage.
Usage Instructions
For intravenous use only. The solution should be administered slowly over 15 minutes. Dosage should be adjusted based on weight and should not exceed the recommended maximum daily dose of 4 g.
Benefits Compared to Analogues
Compared to oral analgesic formulations, intravenous paracetamol offers a faster onset of action, making it particularly beneficial in situations where rapid pain relief is required, such as in postoperative care.
Suitable Patient Groups
Anapiron solution for infusions is suitable for adults and children over 50 kg. Special care and dosage adjustments are necessary for pediatric patients to ensure safe and effective use.
Storage and Shelf Life
The product should be stored at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Check the expiration date on the packaging and do not use the product if expired.
Packaging Description
Anapiron solution for infusions is available in a 100 ml vial containing 1000 mg of paracetamol. Each vial is intended for single use only and should be discarded appropriately after use.
Clinical Evidence and Proven Effectiveness
Paracetamol (acetaminophen) has been extensively studied for its efficacy in pain management and fever reduction. Clinical studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of intravenous paracetamol in providing rapid and reliable analgesia, particularly in the postoperative period.
