Sumatriptan, the active ingredient in Antimigren tablets, is a selective 5-HT1 receptor agonist known for its vasoconstrictive properties in the treatment of migraines. Studies have shown that sumatriptan effectively relieves migraine pain and associated symptoms, such as nausea and sensitivity to light and sound. Research published in the Journal of the American Medical Association has demonstrated the efficacy of sumatriptan in providing rapid and sustained relief from migraine attacks.

Additional Information

It is important to note that Antimigren tablets are not intended for the prevention of migraines and should only be used to treat acute migraine episodes. If you have a history of cardiovascular disease or risk factors, consult your healthcare provider before using this medication.

Pharmacological Effects: Sumatriptan works by narrowing blood vessels in the brain, which helps to relieve migraine headaches. It also inhibits the release of inflammatory neuropeptides associated with migraine symptoms.

Clinical Trials: Clinical trials have shown that Antimigren tablets provide significant relief from migraine pain and associated symptoms within 2 hours of administration. Patients treated with sumatriptan reported a decrease in headache severity and a reduced need for rescue medications compared to placebo.
