Scientific Evidence
Studies have shown that indapamide, the active ingredient in Arifon Retard, is effective in lowering blood pressure and reducing the risk of cardiovascular events. A meta-analysis published in the Journal of Hypertension concluded that indapamide-based therapies significantly reduce the incidence of stroke and overall mortality in hypertensive patients.
Additional Information
Arifon Retard is a sustained-release formulation, providing long-lasting blood pressure control with once-daily dosing. It is well-tolerated with a low incidence of side effects, making it a preferred choice for many patients with hypertension.
Indapamide works by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidneys, leading to diuresis and vasodilation. This dual action helps to reduce blood pressure without significant electrolyte disturbances.
