Dosage and administration:
The dosage of Atenolol will depend on the patient’s medical condition and response to treatment. The usual starting dose for hypertension is 50mg once daily, which may be increased to 100mg once daily if needed. For angina and the prevention of recurrent myocardial infarction, the recommended dose is 100mg once daily. The tablets can be taken with or without food, but it should be taken at the same time every day to maintain consistent blood levels. Patients should not stop taking the drug without first consulting their healthcare provider, as abrupt discontinuation can lead to worsening of symptoms or other adverse effects.
