Ingredients

The main active ingredient in Cefpotek is cefpodoxime. Each tablet contains 200 mg of cefpodoxime.

Dosage

The usual adult dosage is one 200 mg tablet every 12 hours. Dosage may vary depending on the severity of the infection and the patient’s overall health status.

Indications

Cefpotek is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. This includes:

• Respiratory tract infections
• Skin and skin structure infections
• Urinary tract infections

Contraindications

Cefpotek is contraindicated in patients with known allergy to cefpodoxime or other cephalosporins. It should also not be used in patients with severe renal impairment without dose adjustment.

Directions

Cefpotek tablets should be taken orally with food to enhance absorption. Do not crush or chew the tablets. Continue to take this medication until the full prescribed amount is finished, even if symptoms disappear after a few days.
