Indications

Ceftractam is indicated for the treatment of the following infections when caused by susceptible organisms: bacterial meningitis, bacterial septicemia, intra-abdominal infections, skin and skin structure infections, bone and joint infections, and urinary tract infections.

Contraindications

Ceftractam is contraindicated in patients with known allergy to the cephalosporin class of antibiotics. It is also contraindicated in neonates if they require calcium-containing IV solutions.
