Ingredients

The active ingredient in Celebrex capsules is celecoxib 200 mg. Inactive ingredients include lactose monohydrate, sodium lauryl sulfate, povidone, and magnesium stearate.

Dosage

The recommended dosage of Celebrex (celecoxib) is 200 mg daily, taken as a single dose or divided into two separate doses.

Indications

Celebrex (celecoxib) is indicated for the management of acute pain in adults, the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea, and for the relief of the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Contraindications

Celebrex (celecoxib) should not be used by patients who have demonstrated allergic reactions to sulfonamides, aspirin, or other NSAIDs, and in patients with a history of asthma, urticaria, or other allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs.

Directions

Celebrex (celecoxib) should be taken with food to decrease the chance of stomach upset. It should be swallowed whole with a glass of water and not chewed, crushed, or broken.
