Additional Information

It is important to inform your healthcare provider about all medications, supplements, and medical conditions before starting Clopidogrel therapy. In case of any unusual bleeding or bruising, seek immediate medical attention.

Pharmacological Effects:

Clopidogrel works by irreversibly inhibiting the P2Y12 adenosine diphosphate receptor on platelets, thereby preventing platelet activation and aggregation. This action reduces the risk of blood clot formation and subsequent cardiovascular events.

Clinical Trials:

In a comparative effectiveness study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, clopidogrel was found to be as effective as aspirin in reducing the risk of cardiovascular events in patients with a history of atherothrombosis.
