Scientific Evidence:

Losartan, the active ingredient in Closart tablets, is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a substance in the body that causes blood vessels to constrict. Several studies have demonstrated the efficacy of losartan in lowering blood pressure and reducing the risk of cardiovascular events.

Additional Information:

It is important to regularly monitor blood pressure while taking Closart tablets. Some common side effects may include dizziness, fatigue, and hyperkalemia. Consult your healthcare provider if you experience any adverse reactions.

Pharmacological Effects: Losartan selectively blocks the angiotensin II receptor, leading to vasodilation and decreased secretion of aldosterone. This results in reduced blood pressure and improved cardiac function.

Clinical Trials: Clinical trials have shown that losartan is effective in reducing blood pressure and has a good safety profile. A study published in the Journal of Hypertension demonstrated that losartan was well-tolerated and effective in lowering blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension.
