Scientific Evidence

Nifedipine, the active ingredient in Corinfar, is a calcium channel blocker that works by relaxing blood vessels, thus improving blood flow and reducing blood pressure. Studies have shown that nifedipine is effective in the treatment of hypertension and angina pectoris. Research published in the American Journal of Medicine demonstrated the efficacy of nifedipine in reducing blood pressure and improving exercise tolerance in patients with angina.

Additional Information

It is essential to monitor blood pressure regularly while taking Corinfar tablets to ensure optimal control.
Inform your healthcare provider about all medications you are taking to avoid potential drug interactions.

Nifedipine, the active ingredient in Corinfar, inhibits the influx of calcium ions into cardiac and smooth muscle cells, leading to vasodilation and decreased peripheral vascular resistance. This mechanism of action helps in reducing blood pressure and relieving angina symptoms.

Compared to other calcium channel blockers, nifedipine has shown similar efficacy in managing hypertension and angina. However, its extended-release formulation in Corinfar offers the advantage of once-daily dosing and better compliance for patients.
