Additional Information

Pharmacological Effects: Nifedipine blocks calcium from entering the muscle cells of the heart and blood vessels. This action results in the relaxation of blood vessels, lowering blood pressure and improving blood flow to the heart muscle.

Clinical Trials: Clinical trials have demonstrated the efficacy of nifedipine in the management of hypertension and angina. A study published in the Journal of Clinical Pharmacology showed that nifedipine effectively reduced blood pressure in patients with hypertension.
