Scientific Evidence:

Studies have shown that rosuvastatin effectively lowers LDL cholesterol levels and reduces the risk of cardiovascular events. Research published in the New England Journal of Medicine demonstrated the superior efficacy of rosuvastatin in comparison to other statins.

Additional Information:

It is important to regularly monitor liver function tests while taking Crestor. Inform your doctor about any muscle pain or weakness as it can be a sign of a serious side effect. Avoid consuming grapefruit or grapefruit juice while on Crestor therapy.

Rosuvastatin, the active ingredient in Crestor, works by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme involved in cholesterol synthesis. By lowering LDL cholesterol and triglycerides and increasing HDL cholesterol levels, it helps reduce the risk of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular events.

Clinical trials have shown that Crestor is well-tolerated and effective in managing dyslipidemia. A meta-analysis published in the Journal of Clinical Lipidology concluded that rosuvastatin is one of the most potent statins for lowering LDL cholesterol levels.
