Scientific Evidence

Pharmacological Effects: Valsartan works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a substance in the body that causes blood vessels to tighten. This helps to relax the blood vessels, which lowers blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that helps the body get rid of excess salt and water, also reducing blood pressure.

Clinical Trials: In a randomized controlled trial involving patients with hypertension, the combination of valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide was found to be more effective in reducing blood pressure compared to valsartan alone. The study, published in the American Journal of Hypertension, concluded that the combination therapy was well-tolerated and provided significant blood pressure control.
