Description
Donormil Composition
Active substance:
doxylamine succinate 15 mg;
Donormil Excipients:
lactose monohydrate – 100 mg,
croscarmellose sodium – 9 mg,
microcrystalline cellulose – 15 mg,
magnesium stearate – 2 mg.
The composition of the film shell:
macrogol 6000 – 1 mg,
hypromellose – 2.3 mg,
Sepispers AR 7001 (hypromellose – 2-4%, titanium dioxide CI 77891 – 25-31%, propylene glycol – 30-40%, water – up to 100%) – 0.7 mg.
pharmachologic effect
A blocker of histamine H1 receptors from the ethanolamine group.
The drug has a hypnotic, sedative and m-anticholinergic effect.
Reduces the time of falling asleep, increases the duration and quality of sleep, while not changing the phase of sleep.
The duration of the action is 6-8 hours.

Sleep disorders, insomnia.
Donormil Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the drug.
glaucoma;
difficulty urinating due to benign prostatic hyperplasia;
pregnancy;
lactation;
children and adolescents up to 15 years old.
Side effects
Side effects associated with the anticholinergic action of the drug: dry mouth, accommodation disturbances, constipation, urinary retention.
Interaction
When taken simultaneously with antidepressants, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, clonidine, opioid analgesics, neuroleptics, tranquilizers, an increase in the inhibitory effect of Donormil on the central nervous system is observed.
With the simultaneous administration of Donormil with atropine or other atropine-like drugs, imipramine, antiparkinsonian anticholinergic drugs, disopyramide, phenothiazine derivatives, the risk of anticholinergic side effects increases: dry mouth, constipation, urinary retention.
Ethanol enhances the sedative effect of Donormil.
How to take, course of administration and dosage
Patients over the age of 15 are prescribed 1 / 2-1 tablets 15-30 minutes before bedtime. The duration of treatment is up to 2 weeks.
Before taking an effervescent tablet, dissolve in 1/2 glass of water; the film-coated tablet is washed down with water.
Overdose
Symptoms: drowsiness, agitation, mydriasis, accommodation paralysis, flushing of the skin of the face and neck, hyperthermia, dry mouth, convulsions, sinus tachycardia. The phase of excitement and convulsions may be preceded by a state of depression.
Treatment: if necessary, symptomatic therapy is performed. According to indications, anticonvulsants and mechanical ventilation are used.
Special instructions
Patients on a salt-restricted diet should take into account that each effervescent tablet contains 484 mg of sodium.
While taking Donormil, you should avoid drinking alcohol.
The patient should be informed that when waking up in the middle of the night after taking the drug, lethargy or dizziness is possible.
Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and use mechanisms
Care should be taken to prescribe the drug to patients engaged in potentially hazardous activities that require increased attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.
