Description
Enalapril-H (Enalapril) Tablets 10 mg/25 mg. №20
Ingredients:
Each tablet contains: Enalapril maleate 10 mg or 25 mg.
Mechanism of Action:
Enalapril, the active ingredient in Enalapril-H, is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. ACE inhibitors work by inhibiting the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, leading to vasodilation and reduced aldosterone secretion, ultimately lowering blood pressure.
Pharmacological Properties:
Enalapril-H exerts its pharmacological effects by blocking the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, resulting in vasodilation, decreased peripheral resistance, and reduced sodium retention. This leads to decreased blood pressure and improved cardiac function.
Indications for Use:
Enalapril-H is indicated for the treatment of:
- Hypertension
- Heart failure
- Improving survival post-myocardial infarction
Contraindications:
Do not use Enalapril-H if:
- You are pregnant
- You have a history of angioedema
- You are allergic to enalapril or any other ACE inhibitors
Side Effects:
Common side effects of Enalapril-H may include: dizziness, dry cough, hypotension. Contact your healthcare provider if you experience severe or persistent side effects.
Usage Instructions:
Dosage: The usual starting dose of Enalapril-H is 5 mg once daily. The dosage may be titrated to 10-40 mg per day based on individual patient response and tolerability. Administer the tablet whole with a full glass of water.
Benefits Compared to Analogues:
Enalapril-H has demonstrated efficacy in reducing blood pressure, improving cardiac function, and enhancing survival rates post-myocardial infarction. Compared to other ACE inhibitors, enalapril has a well-established safety profile and is widely used in various patient populations.
Suitable Patient Groups:
Enalapril-H is suitable for adult patients with hypertension, heart failure, or a history of myocardial infarction. Dosage adjustments may be necessary for elderly patients and those with renal impairment. Use in pediatric patients should be determined by a healthcare provider.
Storage and Shelf Life:
- Storage: Keep Enalapril-H at room temperature, protected from moisture and heat.
- Shelf Life: Check the expiration date on the packaging and do not use expired tablets.
Packaging Description:
Enalapril-H tablets are typically packaged in blister packs to ensure product integrity and protection from environmental factors. Each pack contains 20 tablets of 10 mg or 25 mg strength.
