Scientific Evidence

Enalapril, the active ingredient in Enam tablets, is a well-studied ACE inhibitor with proven efficacy in the management of hypertension and heart failure. Clinical trials have demonstrated its ability to reduce blood pressure, improve cardiac function, and increase survival rates in heart failure patients.

Additional Information

Enam tablets should be stored at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep out of reach of children. It is important to regularly monitor blood pressure and kidney function while taking this medication.

Pharmacological Effects: Enalapril works by inhibiting the angiotensin-converting enzyme, thereby reducing the production of angiotensin II, a potent vasoconstrictor. This results in vasodilation, decreased blood pressure, and improved cardiac output.

Clinical Trials: A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine showed that enalapril significantly reduced the risk of death and hospitalization in patients with heart failure compared to placebo. Another study in the Journal of Hypertension found enalapril to be more effective in lowering blood pressure than other antihypertensive medications.
