Enap HL may cause dizziness or lightheadedness, especially during the first few days of treatment. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medication affects you.
Pharmacological Effects: Enalapril works by inhibiting the angiotensin-converting enzyme, leading to vasodilation and reduced aldosterone secretion. Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, promotes diuresis and helps lower blood pressure.
Clinical Trials: A randomized controlled trial published in the New England Journal of Medicine compared the efficacy of enalapril alone versus the combination of enalapril and hydrochlorothiazide. The study concluded that the combination therapy resulted in better blood pressure control and reduced cardiovascular events.
