Risperidone, the active ingredient in Eridon tablets, is a second-generation antipsychotic medication that works by blocking certain dopamine and serotonin receptors in the brain. This action helps to regulate the balance of these neurotransmitters, which are believed to be involved in the symptoms of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
Clinical trials have demonstrated the efficacy of risperidone in managing the positive and negative symptoms of schizophrenia, as well as reducing the frequency and severity of manic episodes in bipolar disorder. Research published in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry has shown that risperidone is well-tolerated and effective in long-term treatment of schizophrenia.
