Espol Composition
active substance: 1 g of ointment contains paprika (Sarsicum annuum) thick extract in terms of 1.8% capsaicinoid content 100 mg (extractant ethanol 80%)

excipients: dimethyl sulfoxide, eucalyptus oil, lavender oil, chloroform, lanolin, white soft paraffin.

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics.

Espol ointment has a distracting and analgesic effect. Rubbing into the skin causes the expansion of superficial vessels and a local improvement in blood circulation.

After 5 – 10 minutes, hyperemia and a feeling of warmth appear at the site of rubbing.

Espol Pharmacokinetics.

The active substance of the ointment is not absorbed into the systemic circulation.

Clinical characteristics.

Indications
Myalgia, neuralgia, lumbago, lumbosacral radiculitis, with bruises without violating the integrity of the skin, with stretching and tearing of muscles, treatment of the consequences of fractures.

Contraindications
Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug. Bronchial asthma, renal and hepatic failure, circulatory failure, glaucoma, cataracts, angina pectoris, stroke, damage, violation of the integrity of the skin, open wounds, eczema, active stage of any inflammatory process, purulent skin diseases. The period of pregnancy or lactation. Children under 12 years of age.

Special security measures
Before use, remove the tube from the refrigerator and keep at room temperature for 2 hours. Pay special attention to preventing the ointment from getting on mucous membranes, damaged skin, open wounds. Avoid contact with eyes. Rub the ointment into the skin only with the applicator. After applying the ointment, wash your hands thoroughly.

Avoid the use of additional heat sources during treatment (for example, solar or infrared radiation, heating pad or warm water). The heat effect can also be enhanced by physical activity (excessive sweating).

If there is an excessive heat effect, treatment should be discontinued. In this case, the excess ointment must be removed.

If symptoms worsen while using Espol ointment, you should consult your doctor.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions.

Do not use the ointment at the same time as other topically irritating drugs, drugs that increase blood circulation and cause skin redness.

Increases the likelihood of neuropathy when using drugs containing sulindac.

Simultaneous use with anesthetic gels is not recommended.

Interaction with other drugs that are applied to the same place, possibly even within 12 hours after removing the ointment.

With the simultaneous use of any other medicines, you must inform your doctor.
