Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics.
The main active ingredient of the drug is eucalyptus oil with a content of at least 80% of antispasmodically active 1,8-cineole. Its action is combined with the action of coniferous oil, which contains 30-40% of alpha-pinenes, which improve blood supply. The pharmacological action of these essential oils leads to dilution and dissolution of bronchial secretions, increased excretion of ciliated epithelium, weakening of catarrhal manifestations in the respiratory tract, anti-inflammatory action. Due to its lipophilic properties, the active substances are well distributed on the skin and absorbed. After absorption, they are partially excreted through the lungs, and therefore enter the bloodstream directly to the site of action. Thus, the previous effect that occurs during inhalation is enhanced when taking baths and in the case of bed rest is complemented by the positive effects of a warm bath, which in combination with the active substances causes sweating.
