Scientific Evidence

Xylometazoline hydrochloride, the active ingredient in Farmazolin Nasal Drops, is a selective alpha-adrenergic agonist that constricts blood vessels in the nasal mucosa, reducing nasal congestion. Studies have shown its efficacy in providing rapid relief from nasal congestion with minimal systemic absorption, making it a preferred choice for nasal decongestion.

Additional Information

Farmazolin Nasal Drops should not be used for more than 7 consecutive days. Prolonged use may lead to rebound congestion. If symptoms persist, consult a healthcare professional. Keep out of reach of children.

Pharmacological Effects: Xylometazoline acts locally on alpha-adrenergic receptors in the nasal mucosa, causing vasoconstriction and reducing swelling and congestion.

Clinical Trials: A randomized controlled trial comparing xylometazoline nasal drops with placebo demonstrated significant improvement in nasal congestion and airway patency in patients with acute rhinosinusitis (Source: PMID 25739978).
