Scientific Evidence

Felodipine, the active ingredient in Felodip tablets, is a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker. Studies have shown that felodipine effectively lowers blood pressure by dilating peripheral arteries, reducing the workload on the heart. Research published in the Journal of Hypertension demonstrated the efficacy of felodipine in managing hypertension.

Additional Information

It is important to monitor blood pressure regularly while taking Felodip tablets to ensure optimal control. Inform your healthcare provider about any side effects or concerns. Avoid grapefruit or grapefruit juice while on felodipine therapy as it may increase the risk of side effects.

Pharmacological Effects: Felodipine acts by selectively blocking calcium channels in vascular smooth muscle, leading to vasodilation and decreased peripheral resistance. This results in reduced blood pressure and increased blood flow to the heart.

Clinical Trials: Clinical trials have compared the effectiveness of felodipine with other antihypertensive agents. A study published in the American Journal of Medicine showed that felodipine had similar efficacy in lowering blood pressure compared to other calcium channel blockers but with a lower incidence of adverse effects.
