Fitobene 40 g Composition
active ingredients: dexpanthenol, sodium heparin, dimethyl sulfoxide;

1 g of gel contains dexpanthenol in terms of 100% substance 0.025 g of sodium heparin in terms of 100% substance 500 IU of dimethyl sulfoxide in terms of 100% substance 0.15 g;

Excipients: ethanol 96%, carbomer 980, polyoxyethylated castor oil, hydrogenated, trometamol, rosemary oil, pine oil, lemon oil, purified water.

Pharmacodynamics
Fitobene®, gel is a combined preparation for topical use. The action of the drug is due to the components that make up its composition.

Dimethyl sulfoxide has an anti-inflammatory, antiexudative and local anesthetic effect due to inactivation of hydroxyl radicals and improvement of metabolic processes in the focus of inflammation, a decrease in the rate of nociceptive impulses in peripheral neurons. Dimethyl sulfoxide penetrates biological membranes, facilitates the resorption of other components of the drug.

Sodium heparin is a direct anticoagulant, a natural antiplatelet factor of the body – by inactivating biogenic amines in tissues, it has a moderate anti-inflammatory effect, improves microcirculation, prevents thrombus formation, activates the fibrinolytic properties of blood, promotes the regeneration of connective tissue by inhibiting the activity of hyaluronidase.

Dexpanthenol, a derivative of vitamin B5, is converted in the skin into pantothenic acid, which is part of coenzyme A, which plays an important role in the processes of acetylation and oxidation. By improving metabolic processes, it stimulates the regeneration of damaged tissues.

Indications
Injuries (including sports), hematomas, muscle damage, periarticular structures or joints (without skin damage) tendinitis and tendovaginitis, bursitis, periarthritis scapular and shoulder epicondylitis (pathological basis of the clinical syndrome “tennis elbow”); acute neuralgia.

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;

severe liver and / or kidney dysfunction;

bronchial asthma;

unstable hemodynamics;

severe disorders of the cardiovascular system (severe angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, stroke, severe general atherosclerosis);

trophic leg ulcers, bleeding, open and / or infected wounds, hemorrhagic diathesis, purpura, thrombocytopenia, hemophilia, bleeding tendency;

coma, glaucoma, cataract.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions
The use of heparin can prolong the prothrombin time in patients taking oral anticoagulants. Do not use the drug together with topical drugs, for example, with drugs containing tetracycline, hydrocortisone, salicylic acid, anticoagulants.

Due to the ability of dimethyl sulfoxide to enhance both the specific activity and toxicity of some drugs, the simultaneous application of other drugs for topical use should be avoided.

The drug Fitobene® containing dimethyl sulfoxide should not be used with sulindac (NSAIDs) due to the possibility of severe toxic reactions (peripheral neuropathy).

Dimethyl sulfoxide enhances the effect of ethanol (alcohol inhibits the elimination of the drug) and insulin, acetylsalicylic acid, butadione; digitalis drugs, quinidine, nitroglycerin, antibiotics (streptomycin, monomycin), the body is sensitized to drugs for anesthesia.

The ability to influence the reaction rate when driving or operating machinery
The drug does not affect the reaction rate when driving or operating other mechanisms.
Application during pregnancy or lactation
Potential teratogenic effects of dimethyl sulfokuside have been reported in animals.

The experience of using dimethyl sulfoxide for pregnant women is insufficient, therefore, the use of Fitobene® during pregnancy and lactation is contraindicated.

Dimethyl sulfoxide penetrates into breast milk, therefore, the use of Fitobene® during breastfeeding is contraindicated.
