Scientific Evidence

Ambroxol, the active ingredient in Flavamed tablets, has been extensively studied for its mucolytic and expectorant properties. Research has shown that ambroxol helps to increase the production of respiratory tract fluid, making mucus less viscous and easier to clear from the airways. Studies have also demonstrated the effectiveness of ambroxol in reducing cough frequency and severity.

Additional Information

It is important to stay hydrated while taking Flavamed tablets to help loosen mucus and facilitate its removal. If cough symptoms persist for more than a few days or worsen, consult a healthcare provider for further evaluation.

Pharmacological Effects: Ambroxol acts by stimulating the production of surfactant in the lungs, which helps in the clearance of mucus. It also exhibits antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, contributing to its therapeutic effects in respiratory conditions.

Clinical Trials: Clinical trials have shown that ambroxol is well-tolerated and effective in improving cough symptoms in patients with acute and chronic respiratory diseases. A study published in the International Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics demonstrated the superior efficacy of ambroxol compared to placebo in reducing cough frequency and severity.
