Gepatrombin Composition
active substance: sodium heparin

100 g of gel contains sodium heparin 30,000 IU or 50,000 IU

excipients: allantoin, dexpanthenol, trilon B, lemon oil, isopropyl alcohol, carbomer, pine oil, mountain pine oil, levomenthol, polysorbates, macrogol glyceryl capilicaprate, sorbitol solution that does not crystallize (E 420), triethanolamine, purified water.

Pharmacodynamics
Hepatrombin gel is a drug in high direct-acting anticoagulant heparin for external use. It has a local antithrombotic, anti-edematous and anti-inflammatory effect, stimulates metabolic processes in tissues, as well as granulation and epithelialization of tissues, improves local blood flow.

Pharmacokinetics
When applied externally, heparin does not show a systemic effect, quickly penetrates the skin and accumulates in the stratum corneum of the epidermis and, accordingly, has an exclusively local effect.

Indications
Treatment of diseases of superficial veins, such as varicose veins, and related complications, phlebothrombosis, thrombophlebitis, superficial periphlebitis. Postoperative varicose phlebitis, complications after surgical removal of the saphenous veins of the lower extremities. Injuries and bruises, infiltrates and localized edema, subcutaneous hematomas. Injuries and sprains of muscle-tendon and capsule-ligament structures.

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to heparin or to any other components of the drug; trophic leg ulcers, bleeding; open and / or infected wounds, hemorrhagic diathesis, purpura thrombocytopenia, hemophilia. Bleeding tendency.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions
Hepatrombin should not be used together with drugs for topical use, for example, with drugs containing tetracycline, hydrocortisone, salicylic acid, anticoagulants.

The use of heparin can prolong the prothrombin time in patients taking oral anticoagulants.

Application features
Apply only to intact skin. The drug should not be prescribed for bleeding, applied to infected skin areas in the presence of purulent processes, mucous membranes. If the patient has hemorrhagic symptoms, the possibility of using the drug should be carefully weighed.

In the case of phlebitis treatment, this drug does not need to be rubbed into the skin, but only applied to the affected area with a thin layer and wrapped with an elastic bandage.

The gel should not be applied to wet skin, wounds, ulcers and blisters, mucous membranes, eyes and around the eyes. If the gel accidentally gets inside, the child may experience nausea or vomiting. In this case, it is necessary to perform gastric lavage.

Method of administration and dosage
Apply topically.

Start treatment with a dose of 50,000 IU / 100 g, while a dose of 30,000 IU / 100 g should be used for continuation of treatment and for prophylactic purposes.

For adults, apply an amount of gel 5 cm long to damaged areas, as well as to adjacent skin areas 2-3 times a day and rub in with light massaging movements from the bottom up.

In the case of phlebitis, this drug does not need to be rubbed into the skin, but only applied to the affected area with a thin layer and bandaged with a compressive or elastic bandage.

The duration of the course of treatment is determined by the doctor depending on the patient’s condition.
