Description
Glycerin Composition:
active ingredients: iodine, potassium iodide;
1 g of solution contains iodine 10 mg, potassium iodide 20 mg
excipients: purified water, glycerin.

Basic physical and chemical properties: transparent, syrupy liquid of red-brown color with the smell of iodine.

Pharmacological properties.
“Lugol’s solution with glycerin” has a bactericidal effect due to the content of free iodine in it. The drug has an antimicrobial effect against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including streptococci, staphylococci, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Proteus vulgaris.
Pharmacokinetics. Has not been studied.
Clinical characteristics.
Indications.
Inflammatory diseases of the mucous membranes of the pharynx and larynx: tonsillitis, pharyngitis.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Severe liver and kidney disease, severe hyperfunction of the thyroid gland, decompensated cardiac, renal or hepatic insufficiency of the study or therapy with radioactive iodine (2 weeks before and after the study or therapy).
Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions. Do not use simultaneously with hydrogen peroxide solution and other disinfectants.
Features of the application.
The drug is not intended for oral administration. Do not inhale and / or swallow the drug. Avoid contact with eyes. Use with caution in laryngitis due to the possibility of laryngospasm; with tuberculosis, hemorrhagic diathesis.
You should not violate the rules for using the drug – this can damage your health.
Application during pregnancy or lactation. The drug is contraindicated during pregnancy or lactation.
The ability to influence the reaction rate when driving vehicles or other mechanisms. Does not affect.
Method of administration and dosage. For external use
With a swab moistened with the drug, lubricate the affected mucous membranes of the pharynx and larynx 3-4 times a day.
The duration of treatment depends on the course of the disease and its severity.
