Glimax 4 mg. №30 Composition:

Pharmacotherapeutic group.
Antidiabetic drugs. Oral hypoglycemic drugs, with the exception of insulin. Sulfonamides, urea derivatives. ATC code А10В В12.
Clinical characteristics.
Indications.
Insulin-dependent type II diabetes mellitus if blood sugar cannot be adequately maintained solely by diet, exercise and weight loss.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to glimepiride or any component of the drug, to sulfonylurea derivatives or to other sulfonamides. Insulin-dependent type I diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis, diabetic coma, severe kidney and liver dysfunctions.
In case of severe impairment of renal or liver function, the patient should be transferred to insulin therapy.
Method of administration and dosage.
Successful treatment of diabetes mellitus depends on the patient’s adherence to an appropriate diet, regular physical activity, and constant monitoring of blood and urine glucose levels. Non-compliance with the patient’s diet is not compensated by taking pills or insulin. The drug is used by adults. The tablet should be swallowed without chewing, with some liquid.
Dosage depends on serum and urine glucose levels. Usually Glimax is used once a day. The drug is recommended to be used shortly before or during a hearty breakfast or, if there is no breakfast, then shortly before or during the first main meal. If the next dose of the drug was missed, you should not increase the dose at the next dose.
