Description
Ichthyol ointment tube pharmachologic effect
Anti-inflammatory agent, has an antimicrobial (bactericidal against Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes) keratoplastic effect. It also has a local irritant, anesthetic and keratoplastic effect.
When applied externally, it accelerates the maturation of boils. With a direct action on the skin, it causes a slight irritation of the sensitive nerve endings, followed by a decrease in their sensitivity, which leads to the appearance of reflexes that change the trophism of tissues. Causes denaturation of protein molecules.
When used rectally, ichtammol has an irritating effect on the rectal mucosa, as a result of which blood circulation in the pelvic organs is reflexively increased, metabolism improves, which helps to eliminate inflammation in the prostate gland in men, ovaries, fallopian tubes, and uterus in women.
Ichthyol ointment vial Indications of the active substances of the drug
For rectal use: salpingo-oophoritis, endometritis, prostatitis as part of complex therapy.
For external use:
erysipelas, eczema, pyoderma, incl. furunculosis, stationary and regressing stage of psoriasis.

Possibly: allergic reactions.
When used rectally: burning sensation in the anus.
Ichthyol ointment tube Contraindications for use
Hypersensitivity to ichtammol; age up to 18 years (for rectal use); children under 12 years of age (for external use).
Application in children
Contraindicated for rectal use in children and adolescents under the age of 18 years, for external use – in children under the age of 12 years.
Special instructions
The compliance of the dosage form used with the indications for use should be observed.
Drug interactions
Not compatible with solutions of iodine salts, alkaloids, heavy metal salts, zinc oxide.
