Iodixanol-UNIC is intended for diagnostic purposes only. X-ray contrast agent should be used in adult patients for cardioangiography, cerebral angiography, peripheral angiography, abdominal angiography, including intra-arterial digital subtraction angiography (CSA), urography, phlebography, contrast enhancement in computed tomography (CT) and gastrointestinal studies. Lumbar, thoracic, and cervical myelography. Arthrography, hysterosalpingography (GSH). The drug is used in children for cardioangiography, urography, contrast enhancement in computed tomography (CT) and gastrointestinal studies.
Description
Iodixol spray Composition
active substance: povidone iodine;
30 g of the drug contains 2.55 g of povidone iodine;
excipients: allantoin; propylene glycol; levomenthol; ethanol (96%); citric acid sodium phosphate monohydrate dodecahydrate; purified water.

Basic physical and chemical properties: when leaving the container, the drug is sprayed in the form of an aerosol jet, which has a specific odor and is a dark brown liquid particles dispersed in the air.

Pharmacodynamics
Antiseptic. Povidone-iodine is a water-soluble complex compound of iodine with a synthetic non-toxic polymer – povidone. On contact with the skin and mucous membrane, iodine is released, it has a pronounced antiseptic effect due to its high oxidizing properties. Due to this, the drug has a pronounced bactericidal, fungicidal, sporicidal and selective antiviral effect, active against protozoa.

Indications
Treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx: angina catarrhal, follicular; streptococcal sore throat (with simultaneous antibiotic treatment); acute and chronic tonsillitis; glossitis; aphthous stomatitis.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to iodine or other components of the drug: Duhring’s dermatitis herpetiformis; hyperthyroidism adenoma or thyroid dysfunction; uncompensated cardiac, renal or hepatic insufficiency diagnostics or therapy with radioactive iodine (within 2 weeks before and after the study).
Application features
The product contains 20% ethanol (96%), does not contain sugar.
The drug is intended for oral administration.
Do not inhale and / or swallow the drug.
With laryngitis, the drug can be used only in exceptional cases.
The brown color of the solution indicates its effectiveness. Discoloration of the solution indicates a decrease in the effectiveness of the drug.
The use of povidone iodine may interfere with thyroid scintigraphy. Do not use povidone iodine for 1–2 weeks prior to starting thyroid scintigraphy.
Since it is impossible to exclude the development of hyperthyroidism, long-term (more than 14 days) use of povidone-iodine or its use in the indicated quantities in patients (especially the elderly) with latent thyroid dysfunction is permissible only after a careful assessment of the ratio of the expected benefit and possible risk. Such patients should be monitored for early signs of hyperthyroidism and proper examination of thyroid function, even after discontinuation of the drug (for up to 3 months).
Contact with eyes must be avoided. If the solution gets into your eyes, rinse them with water.
The drug can stain the oral mucosa, teeth, skin and clothing. Stains on mucous membranes, teeth and skin can be removed using alcohol solutions. Stains on clothing can be removed with diluted ammonia (ammonia), sodium thiosulfate, or soap and water.
If possible, dentures and similar structures should be removed from the mouth before using the drug.
Do not heat the drug before use.
