Description

Labilact Composition
1 capsule contains: live lyophilized bacteria Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus plantarum, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium adolescerrtis -109 CFU / g; lactulose – 20 mg.

Labilact Properties
Lactobacilli are one of the dominant microorganisms of the normal microflora of the female genital tract; they perform a protective function in the vagina. Fermented glycogen of the vaginal epithelium, lactobacilli form a number of organic acids, due to which low pH values of the vagina are maintained, the production of hydrogen peroxide by lactobacilli is one of the most important defense mechanisms, creates unfavorable conditions for the colonization and development of pathogenic microorganisms. Bifidobacteria are fixed on the surface of the vaginal epithelial cells. They are also acid-producing microorganisms and are involved in maintaining a low pH. In addition, bifidobacteria produce bacteriocins, lysozyme, alcohols, are factors of colonization resistance in the vagina against pathogenic and opportunistic microorganisms.

Lactulose is a selective nutrient medium for the introduced bacteria. Its presence in Labilact® enables the development of beneficial bacteria even in the absence of endogenous glycogen. The products of the bacterial metabolism of lactulose (short-chain fatty acids) also lower the pH of the vaginal contents.
