Scientific Evidence
Ambroxol, the active ingredient in Lazolvan syrup, has been extensively studied for its mucolytic and expectorant properties. Research has shown that Ambroxol helps to increase the production of respiratory tract fluid, reduce mucus viscosity, and improve mucociliary clearance, leading to easier expectoration of mucus.
Additional Information
Storage: Store Lazolvan syrup at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep it out of reach of children. Side effects: Common side effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances, such as nausea and diarrhea. If you experience any severe side effects, seek medical attention immediately.
Pharmacologically, Lazolvan syrup works by stimulating the production of surfactant in the lungs, which helps to reduce the adhesion of mucus to the bronchial walls. This action makes it easier for the cilia in the respiratory tract to move the mucus out of the airways, improving breathing and reducing cough.
Clinical trials have demonstrated the efficacy of Ambroxol in improving symptoms of respiratory conditions characterized by excessive mucus production. A study published in the Journal of Pulmonary Medicine showed that Ambroxol significantly reduced cough frequency and severity in patients with chronic bronchitis compared to a placebo group.
