Scientific Evidence
Ambroxol, the active ingredient in Lazolvan syrup, has been extensively studied for its mucolytic and expectorant properties. Research has shown that Ambroxol enhances the production of pulmonary surfactant, reduces the viscosity of mucus, and improves mucociliary clearance, making it an effective treatment for respiratory conditions.
Additional Information
Storage: Store Lazolvan syrup below 25°C in a dry place. Keep it out of reach of children. Side effects: Common side effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances, allergic reactions, or skin rashes. If any adverse effects occur, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.
Pharmacologically, Ambroxol acts by stimulating the production of surfactant in the lungs, which helps in the clearance of mucus and improves breathing. It also exhibits antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, further aiding in the management of respiratory conditions.
Clinical trials have demonstrated the efficacy of Lazolvan syrup in conditions such as bronchitis, asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). In a study by Zheng et al., Ambroxol was found to significantly improve lung function and reduce exacerbations in patients with COPD, highlighting its therapeutic benefits.
