Pharmacodynamics. due to the formation of hydrogen bonds with water molecules, the drug keeps it in the intestine. thus, the fluid content in the intestinal cavity increases, which improves the process of emptying.

The laxative effect of the drug occurs within 24-48 hours after administration. The drug is not absorbed or metabolized. It is excreted from the body unchanged.

Legcolax №10 Application
The drug is intended for oral administration.

The treatment normalizes the motility of the large intestine, provided that an appropriate food culture (diet) is followed.

Adults and children over the age of 8 are usually prescribed 10–20 g / day.

The daily dose for children aged 6 months to 1 year is 4 g, from 1 to 4 years old – 8 g, from 4 to 8 years old – 16 g.

The contents of the sachet bag are preliminarily dissolved in a glass of water, clear juice (for example, apple juice) or cold tea, for children under 1 year old – in 50 ml of water.

It is advisable to take Legkolax in the morning with meals, at one time.

The first effect from the use of the drug occurs within 24-48 hours after administration.

The daily dose is determined in accordance with the clinical effect and can range from 4 g every other day (for children) to 20 g / day.

The duration of use is determined by the doctor depending on the nature and course of the disease, the effectiveness of treatment. The duration of treatment for children should not exceed 3 months, since there are no data from clinical studies on the use of the drug over this period.

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to macrogol. inflammatory diseases of the colon (ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, toxic megacolon). intestinal obstruction or suspicion of intestinal obstruction. perforation of the gastrointestinal tract or its threat. abdominal pain of undetermined origin.

Side effects
In some cases, bloating and / or abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, urge to empty and involuntary bowel movements may occur.

If the dose is too high, diarrhea may develop, which stops 1-2 days after the drug is discontinued; after that, you can take the drug in lower doses. In children, diarrhea can cause pain in the perianal area.

It is possible that the water-electrolyte balance is disturbed (hyponatremia, hypokalemia) and / or dehydration, especially in elderly patients.

Very rarely, hypersensitivity reactions may occur, including skin itching, urticaria, rash, facial edema, Quincke’s edema, anaphylactic shock, bronchospasm.
