Mode of application
Levokom retard Asino in the form of extended-release tablets must be taken with a liquid, the tablet must not be divided, chewed or crushed so as not to disrupt the extended-release effect.

The optimal daily dose of the drug should be selected for each patient individually by careful titration. During the dose titration phase, the patient should be closely monitored for increased nausea and pathological involuntary movements, including dyskinesia, chorea and dystonia.

During therapy with Levokom retard Asino, you can continue to use other antiparkinsonian drugs, with the exception of levodopa, although their dose may need to be adjusted.

Levocom Application features
Pregnant
The drug should not be used during pregnancy.

Should not be used in patients under the age of 18.

Drivers
At the time of taking the drug, you should refrain from driving and performing other work that requires concentration.

Overdose
The precautions for overdose with Levokom retard Asino are the same as for overdose with levodopa, however, pyridoxine is not effective in reducing the effect of Levokom retard Asino.

In case of overdose, general supportive measures should be taken, including immediately flushing the stomach if the drug was taken a short time before. Fluids should be administered very carefully to ensure proper oxygenation. Careful monitoring of the patient’s electrocardiogram should be carried out for possible arrhythmias. If necessary, use appropriate antiarrhythmic drugs. It should be taken into account that the patient could have taken other medications. Currently, there is no experience with dialysis. In this regard, its significance in the treatment of overdose is unknown.

Side effects
When using levodopa / carbidopa, side effects are most often caused by the central neuropharmacological activity of dopamine: dyskinesias, dystonic and other involuntary movements, nausea. Muscle twitching and blepharospasm may be early signs for dose reduction. They disappear when the dose of the drug is reduced or during treatment.
