Pharmacological properties
Linex capsules is a combined medicine containing three different types of lyophilized (dried in a special way) viable lactic acid bacteria living in different parts of the intestine. They are part of the normal intestinal microflora and also regulate and maintain the physiological (natural) balance of the intestinal flora. The preventive, therapeutic effect of these microorganisms is determined by different mechanisms. For example, they ferment lactose, shift the pH towards the acidic side. The acidic environment inhibits the growth of pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic bacteria, provides an optimal environment for the activation of digestive enzymes. In addition, lactic acid bacteria produce vitamins B1, B2, B6, B12, K, participate in the metabolism of bile pigments, bile acids, prevent the adhesion (adhesion) of pathogens to the intestinal wall, and produce bacteriocin substances (with antibacterial activity). Lactic acid bacteria stimulate humoral immunity as well as local immunity in the intestine.
Imbalance of lactic acid bacteria occurs for various reasons (viral / bacterial infections, the use of broad-range antibiotics, chemotherapy drugs, travel, irradiation of the pelvic organs, abdominal cavity). In newborns, a delay in the normal formation of intestinal microflora is possible. All this leads to indigestion, accompanied by flatulence (bloating), diarrhea (loose stools) or constipation.
The use of Linex capsules helps to maintain the normal state of the intestinal microflora, restore the disturbed balance of intestinal microorganisms.
After oral (oral) administration, lactic acid microorganisms have a local effect in the intestine. They are not absorbed, do not enter the bloodstream.
According to the results of preclinical studies, including generally accepted studies of drug safety, its toxicity, carcinogenicity (ability to cause cancer), teratogenicity (adverse effects on the fetus), genotoxicity (harmful effects on cellular genetic material), the drug is safe.

Indications
It is prescribed for the correction of intestinal dysbiosis, as well as the prevention / treatment of diarrhea caused by viral / bacterial infections of the digestive tract (traveler’s diarrhea, rotavirus infection), as well as the use of antimicrobial drugs (antibiotics, synthetic antimicrobial agents).
