Pharmacological properties
This drug Lipster belongs to the group of antiviral drugs.
The specified pharmaceutical agent exhibits high activity in vitro against herpes simplex virus types I and II.
The drug has low toxicity relative to healthy cells of the host organism. With intracellular entry into cells infected with the herpes virus, the active component undergoes phosphorylation, which forms the active triphosphate acyclovir.
The beginning of the process depends on the viral encoded thymidine kinase. The resulting triphosphate exhibits an inhibitory effect on the substrate for viral DNA polymerase. Thus, he prevents its further synthesis.
Moreover, there is no effect on normal intracellular processes.
Studies have shown that the drug is minimally absorbed after repeated topical use.
