Additional Information
It is important to follow the prescribed dosage and duration of treatment with Locoid ointment to avoid potential side effects. Consult a healthcare professional if your condition does not improve or worsens after using this medication.
Pharmacologically, hydrocortisone butyrate works by inhibiting the inflammatory response in the skin, reducing redness, swelling, and itching. It is absorbed into the skin where it exerts its effects locally.
Compared to similar corticosteroid ointments, Locoid ointment has shown comparable efficacy with a favorable safety profile. It is well-tolerated by most patients with minimal systemic absorption.
