Lopedium Hard Capsules 2 mg. №10

Ingredients:

Each hard capsule contains 2 mg of Loperamide hydrochloride.

Dosage:

The usual adult dosage is 2 capsules initially, followed by 1 capsule after each loose stool, with a maximum of 8 capsules in 24 hours.

Indications:

Lopedium Hard Capsules are indicated for the treatment of acute nonspecific diarrhea and chronic diarrhea associated with inflammatory bowel disease.

Contraindications:

Do not use in children under 6 years of age, in cases of bacterial enterocolitis, or if there is a risk of toxic megacolon.

Directions:

Swallow the capsules whole with water. Do not chew. Follow the dosage instructions provided.

Scientific Evidence:

Loperamide, the active ingredient in Lopedium, acts on opioid receptors in the gut, reducing peristalsis and increasing the tone of the anal sphincter, thus decreasing the frequency of bowel movements and making stools more solid.

Studies have shown that loperamide is effective in reducing the number of bowel movements and improving stool consistency in patients with acute and chronic diarrhea.

Additional Information:

It is important to drink plenty of fluids while using Lopedium to prevent dehydration. If symptoms persist after 2 days of treatment, consult a healthcare professional.

Avoid taking Lopedium if you have a fever or if there is blood in your stools, as it may mask underlying conditions that require medical attention.
