Lorinden C composition
active substances: flumethasoni pivalas, clioquinol:
1 g of ointment contains flumethasone pivalate – 0.2 mg, clioquinol – 30 mg;
Excipients: white wax, soft white paraffin.

Dosage form
Ointment.

Pharmacological properties
Lorinden C is a combined agent for topical use, which has antipruritic, anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, decongestant, vasoconstrictor effects.

Indications
It is prescribed for allergic dermatoses complicated by the addition of a bacterial infection (sensitive to clioquinol):

  • with dermatitis (including allergic, occupational, contact, seborrheic, solar);
  • with eczema;
  • with psoriasis (especially chronic cases), incl. psoriasis of the scalp;
  • with erythema multiforme;
  • with erythroderma;
  • with atopic dermatitis (common neurodermatitis);
  • with pruritus;
  • with dermatoses that cannot be treated with other glucocorticosteroid drugs (discoid lupus erythematosus, lichen planus);
  • with urticaria;
  • with secondary infections after insect bites;
  • with a bacterial / fungal infection of the skin, complicated by the development of local allergic reactions: impetigo, actinomycosis, infected diaper rash, dermatomycosis, blastomycosis, sporotrichosis.

Contraindications:

  • with allergies to the components of the drug;
  • with viral skin diseases (herpes, chickenpox);
  • with tuberculosis of the skin;
  • with cutaneous manifestations of syphilis;
  • for neoplasms, precancerous skin conditions (nevus, skin cancer, atheroma, xanthoma, melanoma, epithelioma, hemangioma, sarcoma);
  • with acne vulgaris, rosacea;
  • with perioral dermatitis;
  • with trophic ulcers of the glenea associated with varicose veins;
  • in conditions after vaccination;
  • for skin infection – for occlusive dressing.

Application during pregnancy and lactation
There have been no controlled studies of the teratogenic effect with the topical use of the drug in pregnant women, therefore it can be used topically in pregnant women only when the benefits to the mother’s health outweigh the possible risk to the fetus.
Cannot be used in the first trimester of pregnancy.
It is not known to what extent clioquinol and flumethasone are excreted in breast milk when applied topically, so special care must be taken when prescribing the drug to nursing mothers. It is prescribed only in exceptional cases, for a short time on limited areas of the skin, not for use on the skin of the mammary glands.

Method of administration and dosage
The ointment is applied externally. You should apply the ointment in a thin layer to the affected areas: at the beginning of treatment – no more than 2-3 times / day, when positive dynamics appear – 1-2 times / day.
The medicine should not be used for more than 2 weeks.
If there is a need for a dressing, then an air-permeable dressing should be used. In case of excessive lichenization, hyperkeratosis, the ointment is applied under an occlusive dressing once every 24–48 hours.
Do not use the ointment for more than 1 week. If not necessary, do not apply the ointment during the day in an amount of more than 2 g.
In adolescents after 10 years, the ointment can be used only in exceptional cases and on limited areas of the skin, avoiding application to the skin of the face.

Overdose
Overdose was extremely rare. With the wrong or prolonged use of the ointment on extensive skin surfaces, systemic side effects of the glucocorticosteroid may occur.
With the development of an overdose, the drug is canceled gradually, symptomatic therapy is used.

Side effects
Rarely possible: dry skin, burning sensation, steroid acne, pruritus, striae, folliculitis. With prolonged use – skin atrophy, telangiectasia, local hirsutism, pigmentation disorders, purpura.

Storage conditions and periods
At 15-25 ° С. The shelf life of the Lorinden C ointment is 3 years.
